1,200-Calorie Meal Plan With Smoothies

Juice Plus Diet Plan
If you're not a big fan of eating your fruits and veggies, smoothies may be the way to go, especially if you're following a low-calorie diet where it's important that you make every calorie count. While consuming only 1,200 daily calories generally suits inactive petite women, calorie needs are dependent on age, gender and activity level, and many people require more. Consult your doctor to help you determine your specific needs.

To keep calories in check and make sure you get the nutrients you need, include a variety of healthy, nutrient-rich foods from all the food groups on your 1,200-calorie diet with smoothies. That means fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and low-fat dairy. Include three meals plus one snack on your meal plan, where each meal contains 350 calories and your snack 150 calories. Making your smoothies at home gives you control over calorie content.

If you're in a rush in the morning, smoothies make a good breakfast on-the-go. For thicker smoothies, freeze your fruit and yogurt the night before. You can make a 350-calorie breakfast smoothie with one large banana, 1 cup of whole strawberries, 1 cup of sugar-free, nonfat vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup of nonfat milk and 2 teaspoons of peanut butter blended with ice. If your smoothie is a little too thick for your taste, add a little water or use a smaller banana and 1/2 cup of orange juice.

Most Americans don't get enough vegetables in their diet, according to the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and most convenient lunch options are starch-and protein-heavy. Make vegetables the focus of your lunchtime smoothie to help keep a lid on calories while upping your nutrient intake. A fruit smoothie makes a sweet ending to your dinner, and a healthy replacement for that 260-calorie small dish of premium ice cream.

Healthy snacks on a low-calorie diet not only help with hunger control, but also supply essential vitamins and minerals. Pairing protein and carbs at snacktime may help improve blood sugar and satiety. A 150-calorie smoothie might include 1 cup of chopped cucumber, 1 large kiwi and 1/2 cup of nonfat plain Greek yogurt blended with ice or 1 cup of nonfat milk blended with a sliced medium peach and ice. Nonsmoothie 150-calorie snacks include five whole-grain nonfat crackers with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter or 3 cups of air-popped popcorn with 1/2 cup of nonfat milk. Lose Weight. Feel Great! AGE lbs. WEIGHT ft.

I will take your advise and start drinking this only at night to see what happens first. Every other blog has just bypassed this whole topic. I just grind them? Funny. I just drank this and thought I'd surf the web and see what I find. It seemed to me the Cinnamon didn't dissolve too well.

Maybe I didn't have the water hot enough. Update: Tried this for 14 days and did not loose even a pound. However, the first week I was doing the 1:2 ration. I did notice and increase in energy though and my waist did get smaller but I was also doing more crunches than usual.

Do you think it would work just as well if eaten after breakfast or sometime during the day? Ive been using it to treat my strep and its been working very well. Hope it works as a weight loss supplement too! I realized it was actually the cinnamon becoming gooey once I poured it over boiling water and covered it for 30 mins.

I stopped and just made the water a bit warm and then add the honey. I also have been doing the 1:2 ration for 5 days and have have not seen any results. I'll try the 1:1 ration this week and see if that changes anything. Thanks for the response!

I had heard about this from my aunt a few weeks ago. I have always struggled with weight in my adult life, having given birth to 4 boys has not been kind to my body. I have also had a huge digestive problem from as far back as I can remember.

Well, I tried this for one week, drinking 1 in the morning, and 1 in the evening. After just a day I began not seeing results, but feeling them! I had stopped for 2 weeks (maybe 3), and have began feeling terribly bloated and not "going" like I had been through that week.

Well, This is my first morning drinking this mixture again, and can not wait to start feeling the wonderful benefits. Lori, yes, one to one. And I think the the two tablespoon of cinnamon is the trick. Some people do get that bloated feeling from that. This one to one ratio helped me.

Not sure of 1:2 thing. It should dissolve completely. Hope you get better result next time. So, you mix your ratio 1 to 1 and have no problem? Everywhere else I've seen this says to mix one part cinnamon to two parts honey. Hi Uzma, I am not sure if this would affect your baby.

It's all natural, but its always safe to consult with your doctor on these issues. I m a lactating mother does this cinnamon honey combo effect my baby ? I researched different sites after hearing about this weight loss solution but no one posted the actual results and I couldn't find anyone talking about trying this. I just tried this last night and this morning. It was very hard to swallow as the honey turned into a gooey substance and did not taste that good. Is that supposed to happen or is the honey supposed to dissolve completely.

The taste is horrible. Is the cinnamon your regular table cinnamon? Thanks for the information. Has anyone tried the Santa Paula Cinnamon? Is the cinnamon supposed to dissolve? The recipe sounds great, just one tip do not expose the honey to degrees higher then 50 C because it looses all its properties, wait for the water to cool off and then mox the honey. I just started the diet. I'm definitely going to try this.
