My Guide To Starting The Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet induction menu can cause constipation or other discomfort, so drink lots of water each day, at least eight glasses containing eight ounces. Cut back on caffeine, too, because it can cause you to crave sugar - a huge no-no on the Atkins induction diet! The first step - and if you’re anything like me, the hardest - is to go through your cupboards, cabinets, pantry and refrigerator to get rid of anything that is not allowed during the Atkins diet induction phase.
The best way to stand up to temptation is to avoid it altogether - run away from the carbs, as fast as you can! Now take out the list of permitted foods and work from there. Carry a copy around with you everywhere so that you can always know what is and what isn’t allowed during induction.
Look for sources of Atkins induction diet recipes from e-books, web sites or other reliable sources. One of the things that made the biggest difference for me was that I told my friends and family that I was starting the Atkins diet. I talked about the Atkins diet basics and the importance of the Atkins diet induction phase.
To keep them from inadvertently tempting me with foods that weren’t allowed. No invitations to go out for ice cream, no meeting up for Friday night beer and pizza. I still saw my friends and spent time with them; I just asked them to help me by planning activities that did not center on forbidden foods. When I was starting the Atkins Diet I found it really amazing just how much my friends cared and that they were really rooting for me to be successful. They went out of their way to support me during the difficult Atkins induction diet phase, and a few of them even joined me along the way. Try it for yourself and I think you’ll be happy with the results!
If you don't eat a lot of meat you could try the fish or the vegetarian options of tofu, textured soy products and plain Quorn. Thanks so much for all the information,I am not a big meat eater and am on day 5 of the attack phase, would I be able to have a protein shake as well?
Thanks for sharing your experiences of the Dukan Diet. I started Dukan 5 wks ago. 1. Cut back on what you eat during the day leading up to your meal out. 2. Just before you leave have something to eat and drink so you don't feel so hungry. 3. Volunteer to drive so you don't drink.
4. Make the best food and drink choices you can from what is available. I love your page! It is soo helpful. Do you have any tips for eating out during the attach phase? I've got several recipes posted in other hubs which you can get to via the links in this hub.
On day one of Attack! Any recipes to keep me motivated? Found a recipie for dukan diet bread, but not sure if I can have this on the attack plan! I started the diet on 2.23.11 and in 5 days I have lost about 9 lbs. I still feel great and am making sure to eat just the foods that are allowed in the attack phase.
I am starting the cruise phase on Monday. I have 35 lbs to lose total and can't wait until its all gone! Thanks for stopping by and reading my hub. The Dukan Diet is very popular at the moment and a lot of Dukan dieters have been very successful in losing weight.

I'm sure that visitors to my hub will find the link you've provided to be helpful when trying to find different recipes for the Dukan Diet. A 10 day Attack Phase is the maximum recommended and this is only for those who need to lose 40lbs or more.
Keep up the good work! I have tried this diet once about 3 months ago for 3 weeks and lost about 10kg, fell off the wagon but have gotten back on. Suprisingly I only gained 500g from what I lost so it was easy enough to keep off. Have been on Attack Phase for 2 days and lost another kilo.
Planning on a 10 day attack this time. I will have to try the Hot Chocolate from here tonight though. Thanks for the extra advice, now I just have to convince the other 4 people in the house to go on it. The cravings normally ease after 3 or 4 days but not always.
Try chewing a small amount of lean ham or beef but chew it really well before you swallow it and then drink a glass of water. You can use sweeteners and still enjoy your tea but long term it would be great to try and phase yourself off sugar in your tea.
Try making your tea weaker with more zero fat/skim milk and see how you get on. It does take a while to become used to the taste and once you get used to weak milky tea you can then start to increase the strength and reduce the amount of milk used. I'm so pleased that you luv the recipes I've put in my hubs.
