Flax Seed Lowers Cholesterol: Amaze Your Doctor!

Thank you for stopping in to check out this info on using ground flax seed for maintaining healthy cholesterol levels. You are right, a proper overall diet, exercise, and correct rest are a must in order to have optimum health. It all works together, doesn't it? Sorry it's taken me so long to say thanks for coming by.
I hope you've found the ground flax seed to be useful. Though it's not an over night cure, we've found to consistently meet the need. I had to come back for a second read on this inspiring hub. Yes, I ve been inspired to use flax seed more often in my diet since visiting your hub.
I want you to know I've noticed an improvement in my health. Hello RTalloni, It seems as though you have done as scripture requests of you - Romans 12:1-2. Also, flax seed is a daily requirement. You presented the use of flax seed very well here. I give you lots of credit for respectfully challenging the doctor and working your cholesterol level down. Nobody knows your body better than yourself. I'm glad you took full control of managing your body because that's what I do.
However, a healthy diet, exercise and proper rest are huge requirements to maintaining excellent health and living longer. Looking forward to reading more of your hubs. I have some flax seeds in my refrigerator right now and will be giving this method a try. Thanks for the encouragement and information. So appreciate that you shared your experience with using ground flax seeds to help others understand how it can be used and how useful it is! Thanks so much for checking out this hub and for letting us know you found the information helpful.
Yes, indeed, fresh ground flax seed will give best results. Ginger has so many benefits and I continue to use it. So appreciate your visit! Rajan Singh Jolly 2 years ago from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar,INDIA. I'm not surprised with the results you've got. I take these in my morning glass of milk daily and in the evening once in a while. Nothing has been able to take its place for me. So glad this reminded you. Thanks much for stopping in!
It is, sadly, not surprising that your doctor seemed so eager to medicate you rather than suggesting changes in your diet. Glad to hear you took it upon yourself to lower your cholesterol naturally. Congratulations on the great results! I have been incorporating flaxseed meal into my diet for the past several months, mostly for its omega-3 fatty acid content.
I have read that many nutritionists recommend ground flaxseeds or flaxseed meal over whole flaxseeds so that the body can better absorb all the nutrients. After reading your article, I am more motivated to find a way to add ginger to my diet, as I have been hearing a lot about its nutritional benefits. Thanks for such an informative article.
I have forgotten about flax seed. I once had it in the house all the time and used it in smoothies or put it in my oatmeal. I need to get back to that. Thanks much for stopping in and letting us hear from you. Sounds like you've got a smart family doc!
My recent report from the doc was impressive again so I am a happy camper and so is my doc, though he wants to monitor closely since I've had ups and downs with the levels. All things considered after two long-term stresses peaking, then the wind down, I think I'll be able to stay on an even keel with attending to the issue as written about in this hub.
Am in the process of giving chia a fair trial, and it is easier since it does not need grinding, but am not so sure of all its benefits. I am discovering that there are some differences between the two grains. Will have to see, but at this point I'm missing my flax. Am going to try mixing the chia into a cup of juice or applesauce early in the day, setting it in the fridge, then "taking" the prescription of 2 tablespoons in the evening.
Flax can be ground and downed immediately, but I find after just 10-15 minutes the chia is still in need of soaking. Both, however, require plenty of water to be effective. Must pass this to my hubby who's cholesterol level is also borderline. Our family doctor though highly recommend chia seeds and we've been adding chia seeds to our meals since then. We're yet to come back for another check and we'll find out. When we go back, I'll also ask our doctor about incorporating flax seeds in our diet.
Thanks much for letting us know that this was a good reminder for you. Sure hope your results are positive. I am going for that dreaded blood work next month so will get going on that flax seed which I already have but have forgotten all about. Will go see if Peggy has a tea recipe too!
